Utterly mindblowing. This is a behind the scenes look at how the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz was brought to the MSG Sphere: AI used to not just up-res and outpaint (creating the parts of the image that were originally cut off by the 4:3 film), but also to generate character driven performance too. When in the original film the camera panned away from the Tin Man, say, the Sphere version still had to show him: and had to make sure his performance, now he’s visible again, matched his character.

This had to be done for every character in every scene. Completely nuts.
